Matt Smith


Matt is entrepreneurial minded and enjoys identifying, creating and executing on market opportunities. His expertise includes finance, contract negotiation, land procurement, construction and public entitlement. His experience has taught him the importance of seeking win/win solutions, to pay attention to the details, and to be honorable in all dealings.

He has been instrumental in designing and creating many successful projects many of which have national tenants such as Lowe’s, Target, Camping World, Walgreens, Verizon, and Taco Bell.

Since 2012, Matt has served as President of Zoke Group—a private investment and real-estate development company. Prior to founding Zoke Group, Matt worked for 15 years as a principal at Brighton Corporation–a large mixed-use real estate development company–where he created and led its retail development division. Matt started his career at Arthur Andersen’s Los Angeles office where he conducted in depth due diligence and valuation analysis on large real estate projects.

Matt has a Master of Science degree from MIT in Real Estate Development and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude, from Brigham Young University.

In his free time, Matt and his family enjoy experiencing other cultures and places around the world. Matt enjoys tennis, racquetball, scuba diving, hiking and both water and snow skiing.
